The social media influencers’ attack on Justice Gavai

In March 2023, we had done a piece on the concerted online attacks on Chief Justice DY Chandrachud by social media accounts. At the time, the Twitter API was available, we were able to do fairly fine-grained analysis on where the attacks were coming from, what they were thematically centered around. As an experiment, I tried to look at the most influential accounts that floated anti-Chandrachud content online to see if there is some overlap. This time, the theme is quite clear, and it’s singular – caste.
