I am an assistant professor at the School of Information here at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I am interested in a range of issues around technology and development, and much of my teaching and research is in these areas.
Until recently, I was a visiting assistant professor at NYU Poly, and Computing Innovation fellow at the ATLAS institute at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Prior to that, I was at the University of Washington in Seattle, where I worked primarily with the TASCHA and Change groups. I did my graduate studies in the Department of City and Regional Planning and at the School of Information at UC Berkeley, and during this time my research homes were TIER, MSR India, and ICSI.
A lot of my past work was on technology and children, specifically children's sharing of computers in resource-strapped environments. More of my recent work has been on the development and adoption of assistive technology following the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
